Darlington built 78002 now in workshop hands

Steam gave way to diesel and electric as we well know

Here 4F 43924 is prepped beside Class 37 diesel

I suppose it was inevitable as life was much better
for the engine men on the diesels and electrics

The class 37 themselves have survived well with
a number still running on the Highland lines in
Scotland.

They too, now for part of our preservation

Here a Hunslet with English Electric experimental
'Vulcan', along with every preserved railways needs
a diesel shunter.

A4 60009 Union of South Africa

I well remember as a little lad the warm welcome
of the carriages on many a winters journey

LMS Crab at Bury

I was at the East Lancashire Railway last week

The LMS Crab was in charge of one of the trains

30072 & 75078

by news@kwvr
We recently brought you the news of 30072's sale by it's owner and its proposed move to the Ribble Steam Railway at Preston. After some speculation of its movement date, the locomotive finally departed Haworth this morning. Obviously the storm gods were not in favour of the move, as can be seen from the photographs but this did not stop 30072 moving to its new home.
30072-150924'2-SH
It is now all fingers crossed that it will be overhauled by its new owners in time to return to the Railway in 2018 to take part in our 50th Anniversary celebrations.
