The Blue timetable is in operation on all 4 days of the Easter weekend so it will be steam locomotives on all trains over the weekend. The first train departs Oxenhope each day at 10.15 and the last departure of the day is 17.15 from Keighley.
BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 75078 is back this weekend after hauling the steam services last weekend but will be joined by USATC S160 2-8-0 5820 at the head of the second service Friday to Monday.
On Tuesday 75078 continues and, with only one steam service operating all day Tuesday - Friday, 5820 rests from duty. The first train departs Oxenhope at 10.00.
There are no diesel services this weekend but return on Saturday 6th April.

Whilst every effort will made to ensure that the advised motive power is available, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway reserve the right to change this when operational circumstances so dictate.

Damems station on the K&WVR
Just a reminder of what we hope is soon to come
Here from last summer a little study of Damems
station on a lovely warm summers day.
4F 43924 drifts through the station en route for
Ingrow and Keighley
Damems lies and a steep valley, wooded on one
side and agriculture on the second. with a housing
estate at the top of the hill
It has all the feelings of a very rural village station

K&WVR Locomotive Roster for Weekend 17th & 18th March and Mid-week 21st March 2018

The Spring Gala has been hailed a great success by everyone that attended and the crews and railway volunteers certainly delivered what one person described as the best KWVR Gala he had attended.
However, all good things must come to end and our guest locomotives, 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' and 53808 have returned by road to their respective home railways, the Great Central at Loughborough and the West Somerset Railway at Minehead respectively. However one guest locomotive has stayed behind and steam services will run on Saturday and Sunday, this weekend with Ian Riley's LMS Class 5MT 'Black 5' 4-6-0 44871 as the motive power.
The weekend diesel service will once again have railbus M79964 providing the accommodation. However the Wednesday railcar service will see the Class 101 diesel multiple unit making a re-appearance after a while on the sidelines.
On Saturday the first train departs Oxenhope (diesel railcar) at 09.00 with 44871 operating from 11.00 and on Sunday, the first passenger service is steam hauled at 10.15, working a two train service with the diesel railbus.

K&WVR Locomotive Roster for Weekend 3rd & 4th March and Mid-week 7th March 2018
Locomotive Roster for Weekend 3rd & 4th March and Mid-week 7th March 2018by news@kwvr |
Snow permitting, steam services will run on Saturday and Sunday, this weekend with BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 75078 on a 4 coach train, including real ale buffet car.
This week's midweek diesel railcar service was a very welcome sight for locals wanting to travel into Keighley. Despite the snow, as always, our volunteers rose to the occasion and made sure that the service ran as advertised and some used the service as a means of getting about the Valley with other forms of transport struggling.
K&WVR Diesel Services Cancellation
Diesel Services Cancellationby news@kwvr |
Having done so well on Wednesday to operate the diesel railcar service in snowy conditions, the weather has finally taken its toll on the diesel service that was scheduled to run this weekend.
With more snow having fallen since Wednesday, the KWVR has reluctantly decided to cancel the diesel railcar service this weekend, 3rd and 4th March.
However the steam service, due to operate behind BR Standard 4, 4-6-0 75078, is scheduled to operate on both days as advertised. The first train on Saturday will therefore be the 11.00 from Oxenhope and on Sunday the 10.15 from Oxenhope but there will be no diesel service on either day.
