Staniers Mogul LMS 2-6-0

On joining the LMS from Swindon one of Stanier's 

first tasks was to reset the imbalance in Locomotive 

stock. Shortage of the L&Y moguls (Crabs) meant

 a priority was a good powerful good locomotive. The 

answer was a mogul with a Swindon type boiler
