Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway's 957 boiler lift
Yesterday was taken up with several lifts around
Haworth Yard
Most notably L&Y 957's boiler was lifted clear
to undergo ten year survey and overhaul
I have a very soft spot for the two oldest engines
in the K&WVR stable of which 957 is the elder
Now the work of restoration can begin proper
over the coming months the boiler will be fully
examined and re-tubed
The engine completely opened for survey
Then the rebuild
and once again 957 (The Green Dragon) will steam
along the Worth Valley
