The carriage works NYMR Pickering

It's  always worth a visit to see what going on. The
Carriage shed is usually open at the station end and
you can go in and take a look at work in progress.

For who is one learning about carriages it is a
fascinating place as I begin to recognise Mk1
1B and Commonwealth bogies

There are of course many others there too so a good
way to learn.

I have spent a lifetime looking at and learning about
steam engines, so it's time I learned about the trains
they pull and the make of f the trains

Here 'Chiru' departs Pickering with a train of Mk1's

The bogies in the foreground are 'Commonwealth'
bogies. Nothing to do with the British Commonwealth
but manufactured in England under licence from the
Commonwealth Steel Company of Illinois USA
