East Lancashire Railway Bury Bolton St station

I am well blessed with three preserved railways
within an easy drive of home

One of the most popular is the East Lancashire
at Bury, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall.

A kinsman of mine, one David Shackleton was born
at Clough Fold just outside Rawtenstall. He was one
of the first three Labour party MP's

There is some very lovely country around that part
of East Lancashire, very similar in many ways to
my own Yorkshire Dales

Indeed the run up to Copy Pit summit is quite spectacular

Bury Bolton St is the HQ of the ELR
