Despite hard work and poor maintenance, the engines were long-lasting, and many Peckett locomotives survive working on today's heritage railways.
1370 was built in 1915 for Yates Duxbury & Sons Ltd, Papermill at Heap Bridge,
Yates and Duxbury's Paper Mill at Heap Bridge near Bury, steam was still in use here for shunting coal wagons between various buildings but May as 1370 was known was the spare engine as her steam brakes no longer worked and a Barclay saddle tank was the preferred motive power. A third engine, another Peckett Annie, was out of use by this time. The three locos were in a worn out and run down condition so it is remarkable that all have survived into preservation.
