Bullied light pacific City of Wells and that valve gear

Here Wells collects it train at Oxenhope
 
 
Here you see the chain driven valve gear in the oil
bath. Many thanks to the Southern-Locomotives

 
The sides of the oil bath are indeed the frames and
leather cup seals were used when these were first
built which were prone to heavier leakage as the
 seal broke down . Later modern materials such as
neoprene have done much to reduce this difficulty.
