Embsay Bolton Abbey Railway 'NORMAN' why Norman?

I have been asked several times now why Norman
is so named. Austerity 0-6-0 W/No 7086 built 1943

The former MoD engine, which saw service in
Belgium and has been previously based on the
Kent and East Sussex and the Midland Railway
Centre  has been in regular service on the Embsay
Bolton Abbey Railway since 2011.

It was after an exhaustive restoration was finished
off at Embsay.

The locomotive worked in NCB service at both
Yorkshire Main and Askham collieries.

It is named after its late previous owner and SLL
shareholder Mr Norman Taylor
