Many thanks to Roland for firstly highlighting

the mistaken attribution of the picture published

on the 13th of December 2014. Roland has given

 me the precise reference in Mac Hawkins book

entitled the 'Railway paintings of Malcolm Root'

my own around the houses research showed the

above plate made by Davenport depicting the

same painting which they attribute to Malcolm

Root. So in my mind there is not doubt as to

the painter. I am very grateful indeed to Roland

for his researches and find such detective

work fascinating. So once again many

thanks Roland. It is a mystery why so

much of Roots work is wrongly attributed

on the internet.

So I think Roland is absolutely right and this is a

mistaken attribution by the above site. Once again

thanks to Roland. Roland is quite right as well in

saying nothing should detract from enjoying this

delightful painting bringing back so many memories
