61036 runs off it's train at Pickering

The greatest part of the restoration was the Boiler
It was originally thought a new firebox and boiler
would be needed as the original was in such poor
condition. However hard work during the 80's &
90's saw the original boiler restored and the loco
first moved under it's own steam in1997

Withdrawn in 2008 for a heavy general overhaul, almost £500,000 has been spent on repairing and renewing 61264's boiler - all funded privately by generous donations and loans from supporters.

With the overhaul finally completed in December 2012, 61264 was moved to her new long-term home on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where she is now a mainstay of the locomotive roster.

Many thanks to the Thompson B1 Locomotive Trust. http://www.thompsonb1.org/

Pickering offers the facility of an excellent close
up view of loco's as they run around

As always thanks to the NYMR go along or see them at
