As was reported yesterday the volunteers of the Railway once again rose to the occasion, cleared the yard and shed of all the debris brought down by the floods and from 12.30 the Railway ran a full line service with BR Class 4MT 4-6-0 75078 running 3 round trips from Oxenhope to Keighley. As the featured image shows and reported by the photographer, "A golden end to a tumultuous Christmas weekend! Well done to the many who turned up and just got on with the job at Haworth today, a classic Yorkshire response to adversity, just get on with it with no fuss and no drama."
We would like to thank all the passengers who came to the Worth Valley to ride on board our Mince Pie Specials, a just reward for all the effort that was put in. Our passenger services are now back 'on-track' and running to the published timetable.
Thankfully the good weather also attracted photographers who have captured beautifully this triumphant day.
Here is a selection of the images from the 27th, and the full selection can be seen on our Flickr page >>>
