Another railway thankfully saved after the rape
of Beeching, Marples with the others who destroyed
our superb and very comprehensive railway network
I am ever more convinced it was a plot of the post
war Tory governments to wrest control of transport
out of the hands of an industry with strong unions
Who is to blame?? Well I suppose we all are at
the end of the day for allowing it to happen. Those
who support the working people of our nation and
those who govern our nation must talk to each
other and not see every word as a declaration
of war
The unions were only trying to get the best for
what were very downtrodden working people who
had fought and won a war and were not about to
simply standby and allow the ingratitude after the
first war to be repeated.
I sometimes wonder if anyone has really leaned the
lessons of those past days. Undoubtedly we have
a better standard of living now but there are still
many who are essentially disenfranchised
