Just a few f the magnificent collection of Model
engines on display in the side hall
Most are of the standard 3'5 and 5 inch gauge
No knowledge of the history, ie makers but often
they were apprentice exhibition pieces
Many others of course will be the product of hours
of work by the model engineers for whom this was
once and all absorbing hobby
Dad's shed produced some magnificent pieces of
miniature engineering
I still do a little but marvel at the work of our
predecessors.
There are a great many on display
Often overlooked by many visitors to the Museum
