London and Birmingham Railway

The London and Birmingham 
Railway was of course the precursor to
the London and North Western Railway.
The London Birmingham link was always
regarded as crucial, Birmingham
being the largest manufacturing
city in the country

However Birmingham and 
Birkenhead were also served by the 
Great Western Railway. The Birmingham
station being Snow Hill and of course
the LNWR (LMS) used New St
