Riddles Austerity 90733 Maintenance Update

90733 Maintenance Update by news@kwvr It was announced recently that 90733 was withdrawn in December with work required that would prevent the locomotive from attending the Winter Steam Gala. This was due to the Number 1 flue failing, not a simple task to rectify. On investigation the decision was taken to remove a further 7 flues and 8 new ones ordered. Here are a selection of images from inside the locomotive giving a taste of what is involved for our staff and volunteers. Brick arch out of the way in the firebox, so the flues can be removed. First things to be removed are the elements but the petticoat was in the way so had to be removed. First 8 of the elements removed. More elements removed, some of which are now on the floor and others still in the flu pipes.
