Our popular Vintage Train Sundays – which operate on seven dates this year - start this Sunday, 5th June and will have a slightly different ‘look’ in 2016!
In order to create added interest this year, in addition to the standard 2-train service (with one set being formed of vintage stock), there are a series of additional Keighley-Ingrow shuttles in the main part of the day. Coaching stock will be drawn from coaches belonging to our partners the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Trust and Vintage Carriages Trust
The ‘main’ Vintage Set will be formed of four coaches, comprising:
Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Club Car, no. 47 Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway 6-wheel 3rd Class coach, no. 1507 Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Brake 3rd, no. 1474 Metropolitan Railway Brake 3rd, no. 427
The Taff Vale Railway 0-6-2T no 85 is the rostered loco for these services throughout the summer
The ‘shuttle’ Vintage Set will consist of two carriages from the Vintage Carriages Trust fleet:
Great Northern Railway 6-wheel Brake, no. 589 Southern Railway 'Chatham' Brake, no. 3554
The shuttles will be worked by Bahamas Locomotive Society locomotives, either Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T side tank no. 1704 ‘Nunlow’ or LNWR 0-6-2T 'Coal Tank' no. 1054. 'Nunlow' is the rostered locomotive for the first Sunday of this new venture.
Whilst every effort will made to ensure that the advised motive power and rolling stock are available, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway reserve the right to change this when operational circumstances so dictate.
