For this, the last weekend of 'normal' timetabled running before Santa Steam Specials hit the Valley, we have delayed publishing the locomotive roster for this weekend pending the announcement regarding the availability of a new locomotive on the scene. Not having been in action for 17 years since withdrawal for overhaul, we are delighted to announce that our locomotive restoration team have advised us that Standard 4 Locomotive Society's BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0 78022 will be hauling its inaugural passenger journey tomorrow (Saturday 24th November). Although not a livery carried in service with BR, 78022 looks resplendent in BR Brunswick Green, a livery normally carried, but not exclusively, by top link express locomotives.
At the time of publishing, it is likely that 78022 will not be in action on Sunday and Ivatt 2-6-2T 41241 will haul operate the steam service.
Diesel services over the weekend will be in the hands of our Class 101 DMU which starts proceedings on Saturday at 09.00 from Oxenhope.
Whilst every effort will made to ensure that the advised motive power and coaching stock are available, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway reserve the right to change this when operational circumstances so dictate.
