Lynton & Barnstaple Railway

On my visit this year I was most grateful to be allowed a visit to the engine shed which enabled me to take some pictures of the second steam loco and see the work being done overhauling the second diesel engine. I was told that the second loco pictured here in the shed will be too small to pull the new carriage stock due next year. Should this be so the four co owners may look to sell this locomotive. The rebuild of the original loco LYN is well underway now and the new wheels were cast in Sheffield this April past



Offering narrow gauge train rides at Woody Bay in Exmoor National Park, the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway is a "non-profit" organisation owned by its Members and run almost entirely by volunteers with one aim: to fully restore as much as we can of the legendary Lynton & Barnstaple Railway
