Woody Bay Station

Just returned from annual hols with lots of pics from my railway visits. Here we see the very lovely countryside station of Woody Bay on the Lynton and Barnstaple line. Plans are in hand for the extension of the present line to Blackmoor Gate when purchases of land and building can be made. Much of the trackbed is now owned by the group and the station at Parracombe is the next step. Tremendous work has been completed by this very hard working preservation group and any support you can give will be of immense help in extending this very picturesque narrow gauge line. The rolling stock is to be upgraded I am told with the addition of original L&B carriages which are somewhat heavier than the present ones in use. Two steam loco's are working on the line, 'AXE' and 'SID'. Further information and timetables can be found on:
