I had the pleasure of chatting with the Bahamas group at the weekend. Bahamas is still at Oxenhope and the LNWR coal tank is almost completed in the Bahamas society workshops at Ingrow and a lovely sight it is too. He went on to tell me that Bahamas and the coal tank will be going to the NRM railway festival at York.
York Museum plans to stage Railfest 2012 from 2-10 June. The event will include a substantial display of locomotives and rolling stock from the Museum’s collection as well as a fleet of visiting steam locomotives and heritage rolling stock which are yet to be agreed, and significant representation from the modern rail industry.
The National Railway Museum’s previous Railfest in 2004 celebrated the bicentenary of Britain’s railways and proved to be a huge success by attracting over 70,000 visitors.
