The final weekend of our Santa Steam Specials has now passed and the season comes to its climax with the final trains on Christmas Eve with BR 4MT 4-6-0 75078 taking Santa on his final journeys before he disappears to prepare for his big night ahead.
The final diesel service will again be in the hands of our class 101 diesel multiple unit.
But steam returns on Boxing Day with the Mince Pie Specials, which a year ago produced the best weather for winter photographs, after a dismal season weather-wise. Boxing day will see four round trips with 75078. For the rest of the Mince Pie Specials in 2015, USATC S160 2-8-0 5820 will see out the old year and 75078 will once again be out on the main line seeing in the new, through to 3rd January.
