Introduced in 2015, the Railway operated diesel locomotive hauled trains, as well as steam hauled services, ALL DAY on a number of Saturdays from April through to August to compensate for the withdrawal of the diesel gala. This was deemed a great success and the Railway is pleased to repeat the exercise for this year, and for an additional month.
We will be running diesel locomotive hauled trains ALL DAY on the last Saturday of each month, 30th April, 28th May (Real Ale Trail Event), 25th June, 30th July, 27th August and 24th September
This service operates in addition to the steam train service. Starting at 09.00 from Oxenhope, the train offers 6 round trips of the line, finishing back at Oxenhope at 17.25.
In addition, large Diesels will also be used on some morning services in May and October and D0226 will haul a selection of morning diesel services on some Sundays May - September.
June sees the entry into service of our new Class 08 shunter, 08 993 and to mark the occasion there will be 08 hauled passenger services on the 18th June.
