On our journey to the South West and
of course the West Somerset Railway
we always break the journey for lunch
at Weston-Super-Mare
For a couple of years, possibly 05/06
Weston was hosting Carters Steam
Amusements
Needless to say as can be seen they are in glorious
condition and of course powered as they were in
Victorian/Edwardian times by steam
They are undoubtedly memories of a past age
When steam brought excitement and pleasure for
those few days they visited your area
So I make no apologies for showing them here
Those time were just as lovely and indeed often
part of the holiday
We are all I am sure grateful to Carters for keeping
and preserving, in working order, these magnificent
relics of our past in steam
How they would have thrilled the children and young
people of the day
As with we who are now in our sixties, a visit to
the Fair was a treat to be savoured.
The detail that made Carters gallopers do just that
Now here's a challenge. How about a steam
extravaganza at Minehead. The West Somerset
and Carters bringing back that total experience
