Hudswell Clake 0-6-0 'Jennifer'

0-6-0 tank locomotive built by Hudswell Clarke & Co in 1942. It spent its working life as Samuel Fox & Co Ltd's no. 20.

Hudswell Clarke side tank, built in 1942 as their works number 1731. Now based on the Llangollen Railway, it spent its life working at a steelworks before entering preservation and undergoing a very thorough rebuild. It arrived at Embsay in October 2013, after some bearing work it has now entered traffic.

Samuel Fox & Co Ltd. No.20 (Jennifer) returned to traffic following a lot of work by our loco department to dismantle, lift, clean up etc. and the team at Llangollen to machine the axlebox brass so promptly and return it. The loco proved very capable. It was out today with Beatrice and seemed to be doing very well.

Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T 'Jennifer' (HC1731/1942) spent part of its working life with steelmakers Samuel Fox & Co Ltd. as their no. 20 and also spent time with the NCB at Orgreave, South Yorkshire.
