Here a recent photograph shows
all that is needed to reconnect the
Embsay Bolton Abbey Railway
to the main line. The track in the top
rt hand corner is the Embsay Bolton
Abbey line and running down the
left is the Network Rail line to
the quarry.
It is used twice a day, empty train
up and full train down. How can
they justify the cost of £2,000,000.
No you did not read that wrongly
two million pounds to make the
reconnection.
Every one and everything says it would
add hundreds of thousands of pounds to
a rural community, struggling. Come on
Network Rail do summat for the community
Do the right thing.
