How they inspired us as children
How well we were scrubbed up that Saturday
morning with a week or if you were very lucky
a fortnight at the seaside or in the country
For me the Great Western Railway was always the
final leg of the journey often begun on the LMS
Yes it was quicker, but still a long time. Bradford
to Torquay on the Devonian was still just over
seven hours.
But it didn't matter a wonderful holiday was reward
enough for the journey
As we watched others we were reminded
