On our visit to the Severn Valley Railway we visited
the exhibition hall at Highley
One of the central displays was celebrating the
work of the Army Transportaion Corps and in
particular the Stanier 8F along with the Riddles
Austerity locomotives.
Reminding us of the roll played by the corps in
organising the railways in the middle east during
WW2
Riddles Austerity 2-10-0 which of course was the
model for the standard class 9F.
