The West Somerset Railway is host to
the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust
First set up as the Somerset and Dorset Railway Circle
in 1966 just before the Somerset and Dorset Railway
was closed. It was based at the station at Radstock from
1969. In 1975 the now Trust moved to the West Somerset
Railway and established a base at Washford station setting
up a museum and restoration centre.
Washford Station situated in a beautiful rural part
of the county. The West Somerset main line runs
on the far left of the picture and the sidings are
home to many large exhibits from the old Somerset
and Dorset line.
Often used on the WSR's gala weekends the selectiom
of good wagons are available to be seen in the sidings
Other artifacts can be seen at various places in the station
