East Lancashire Railway Bury Bolton St station

For me this represents the most well preserved
northern industrial towns station in the preserved
railways

Originally of course of the Yorkshire and Lancashire
Railway

It came into the LMS just before grouping as the
L&Y and the Midland jumped into bed together
before they were pushed so to speak

It could well be from any period between the wars
and just after. very 'Brief Encounter' like.

Though the fluorescent platform lamps would give
this scene away
