Terence Cuneo at Tan-y-Bwlch

Tan-y-Bwlch the photograph. 1964/05/19.S70. On Tuesday the 19th May, 1964, the famous railway artist Terence Cuneo visited the Festiniog Railway to make sketches and take photographs for what was to become a well known painting of trains passing as Tan-y-Bwlch. It was carefully staged with ex Penrhyn Quarry Railway Hunslet LINDA waiting at the top points with an up train while double Fairlie MERDDIN EMRYS arrives with a down train.
