Francis Webbs LNWR Coal Tank 1054 The sole survivor

Came across this old picture of 1054
 
 
and it reminded me of my first time seeing the
engine when it was giving brake van rides at
the old Dinting Railway Centre back in the
mid eighties, below a scan from a post card

 
Now of course it is resident at Ingrow Loco and we
have the pleasure of seeing it regularly.

The London and North Western Railway  (LNWR) Webb Coal Tank is a class of 0-6-2T steam locomotive. They were called "Coal Tanks" because they were a side tank version of Webb's standard 17 in Coal Engine, an 0-6-0 tender engine for slow freight trains.
