GWR 4936 Kinlet Hall arrives at Williton on the West Somerset Line

Sorry for the shakes in the beginning, I am getting
used to the zoom and how it magnifies any tiny
movement. Have to use a tripod from now on

The cost of construction of Kinlet Hall in 1929 was
some £5,209.00. The boiler took some 1,167.00 and
the tender £834.00. In its 34 year career with GWR
and British Railways it covered 1,339,061 miles.
Working all over the GWR and Western region
at places ranging from Chester, Shrewsbury,
Wolverhampton, Oxford and Banbury to
Cardiff, Plymouth along with Old Oak
Common. Suffering war damage in 1941
and subsequently repaired and I believe still
carries the scars of the repairs on her frames.
Sent to Woodhams the engine was rescued in
1979 and a long restoration has brought the engine
back to steam.
