A long standing tradition for me and the family
was, as a teacher to close off the summer vac,
with a couple of days away on the East Coast
Even though now retired we sill keep up the tradition
This weekend gone saw us at Scarborough.
There is a lovely miniature railway at the
top end of the North Bay
20 inch gauge the locomotives are sadly not steam
but they are originals built by Hudswell Clark in
Leeds
Diesel hydraulic the are pretty fair reproductions
of real steam engines.
Based on LNER
Compact cab layout
The railway opened in 1931
Originally run by Scarborough Council, the railway
is now run by a private company
