Our railway stations and trains would have been busy

In the build up to,during and in the days after D day
the railways of Britain would have carried a very
heavy load


There would have been no doubt about the hands 
that stretched from across the water


American troops or Yanks as they were known


As the French ports were liberated the pressure
on the railways system eased a little
