The Peak district has been brought
to mind as we celebrate the setting
up of the National Parks
The Peak District National Park
came about by people power, who
demanded access to the countryside
as of right rather than privilege.
The mass trespass on Kinder
Scout made the government
take the rights of you and
me seriously
This if course opened areas up
to public access previously denied
and in the days before mass car
travel the railways were to
lead the way in getting
people out towns
and cities
