The locomotive is currently stripped for overhaul with an anticipated completion date of 2018, in time to haul a train in celebration of 50 years of preservation of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
I got a sneak peak into the shed at Howarth. I well
remember stripping boilers and engines at sea and
marking all parts as they were stripped as the board
says
The boiler is out of the shed but undercover and
works seemed to be in hand stripping the steam
dome yesterday 22/11
So work is well underway.
