We see and hear much of the preserved Evening
Star, however there was another star. It was
Morning Star a class 7 better known as the
Britannia's
70021 MORNING STAR built Crewe Works, entered service August 1951 with a BR1 4250 gallon tender, withdrawn from BR service December 1967. Cut for scrap. 70021, was only 16 years old so had plenty of life in it.
