Class 37 Diesel electric locomotives

One for the diesel fans.

The class 37 introduced in the 1960's were powerful
locomotives for both passenger and goods work

Fitted with an English Electric 1750 HP diesel
engine driving a generator which powered the
traction motors on the bogies. The engines
were probably the zenith of English Electrics
production being turbocharged and inter-cooled.
10 inch bore and 12 inch stroke in a Vee 12
formation.
