On the same shed visit I caught L&Y 957. She
had just come out of service at the end of her
boiler certificate.
This was the engine christened 'Green Dragon'
in the film 'The Railway Children'
Now on display at Oxenhope Exhibition Hall
Thank goodness it was saved as was 1300 on the
East Lancashire Railway
They were Spartan times for the engine crews with
very little cover on our wind and snow swept hills
So go along and take a look close up while you can
