Skipton was of course a major railway hub in the
days of steam
The main watering and coaling point for engines
hauling trains up and over the Settle and Carlisle
Also west bound trains for the west coast such as
Heysham, Preston etc
Always lots of engines to assist
Lots of Mainline stars to see and photograph
Hopefully one day soon we shall see Embsay and
Bolton Abbey trains in the platform on the far right
