Queen Victoria's saloon at the National Railway Museum York

There has been a royal train since the coming of the railways, and Queen Victoria preferred to travel by train, finding it more comfortable than a stage coach. The train also had carriages for her servants, and others travelling with her.

Here bears the Royal Arms. B1 class Gladstone at the National Railway Museum, York, decorated as it was for Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897[
